The town dates from Saxon times, being located on the northern most tip of the Cotswolds, known for the rearing of sheep. The Saxon village was located on a ford its Saxon name was "Scepwaestune" meaning "Sheepwashtown".
Modern Shipston has retained its prosperity through a combination of its quaint streets and historic centre with a variety of independent retailers. The town has grown recently both in residential and commercial terms drawing customers from a wide geographic area.
The market town of Shipston on Stour is located in South Warwickshire just off the Fosseway 7.3 miles north from Moreton in Marsh and 11 miles south east from Stratford upon Avon. The town is easily located from Junction 15 of the M40, following signs to Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh along the A429. To find Tilemans Lane that lies to the east of the town, remain on the Fosseway, turning left down the Darlingscote road to "Shipston Industrial Estate" The site is signposted off the Fosseway.

The site is located in the Tilemans Lane Industrial Estate as shown on the location plan.
The site extends to approximately 5 ac comprising the industrial remaining land to be developed within Shipston.
A planning application has been submitted for a mix of B1, B2 and B8 light industrial and office units from 2000 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft as shown on the site layout plan below. The aim is to create a modern landscaped business village with a mix of units to appeal to a variety of quality occupiers. Units will be available both freehold and leasehold, and will be constructed to a shell specification so that occupiers can create an internal layout to their own specification. Fully completed units to individuals’ requirements can be provided if required.
